How to Apply for Your CSCS Card After Completing Your NVQ
Once you have completed your NVQ with CADUK, you will need to apply for your CSCS card.
This guide explains the full process in simple steps.
1. Wait for your NVQ certificate
Within one to two weeks of completing your NVQ, CADUK will email you a PDF copy of your Certificate of Achievement.
You can use this electronic certificate to apply for your CSCS card.
2. Choose the correct CSCS card for your NVQ
The card you apply for depends on the level of NVQ you have completed.
• Level 3 or Level 4 Supervisory NVQs allow you to apply for the Gold Supervisor Card
• Level 6 or Level 7 Management NVQs allow you to apply for the Black Manager Card
CSCS will only issue the card once you have the certificate and the correct CITB Health Safety and Environment Test.
3. Pass the correct CITB Health Safety and Environment Test
Your CITB test must be less than two years old on the day you apply.
• Supervisors need the ‘Specialist’ Supervisor Test
• Managers need the Managers and Professionals ‘MAP’ Test

4. Prepare the documents you will need for CSCS
Before applying, make sure you have:
• Your NVQ Certificate of Achievement (PDF is fine)
• Your CITB Health Safety and Environment Test result
• A recent digital photograph
• A debit or credit card for payment
5. Apply directly to CSCS

This is the quickest and most reliable method.

Upload your certificate and test result
Pay the application fee
Your card is normally issued within a few working days

You will still need to email your documents for approval.
6. How long it takes to receive your CSCS card
If everything is uploaded correctly, CSCS usually post the card within a few working days.
During busy periods it may take slightly longer.
