Who is this qualification for?

For construction professionals who carry out inspections, monitor quality, identify defects and report findings. Suitable for those checking work for clients, contractors or consultants on live projects. The role normally involves reviewing workmanship, comparing it against specifications and highlighting issues that need attention.

What evidence will you need?

Evidence is based on your normal inspection duties and typically includes:

• Inspection reports
• Snagging lists
• Defect photos
• Quality checklists
• Visit notes
• Drawings or specs
• Certificates or permits
• Emails about findings
• Meeting minutes
• Walkaround videos
• Short explanation videos

Assessment is discussion based with no written coursework. This qualification also supports applications for ICWCI membership, subject to their current requirements.

An assessor will call you for a short profiling chat to confirm the NVQ is achievable for you, then you can decide if you want to enrol.
