Overview

This Level 3 NVQ in Occupational Work Supervision is for experienced gangers, foremen and working supervisors in construction.

It is designed for people who already supervise work on site in their own occupational area and need a recognised, work-based qualification that supports the Gold CSCS Supervisor Card.

This usually means people who are still close to the work itself, but also have responsibility for organising operatives, briefing the team, checking standards, monitoring progress and helping make sure work is carried out safely and properly.

Fully remote assessment with no written work, no classrooms and no time off site. Many experienced supervisors complete in 2 to 4 weeks. Eligible CITB-registered employers can claim the £600 CITB grant after completion.

This qualification is suitable for gangers, foremen and working supervisors on construction sites who:

It is usually the right fit for people supervising a single trade or occupational area, rather than people with broader site-wide supervision responsibilities.

Key Topics You’ll Cover

This qualification covers the core supervisory responsibilities involved in organising work, briefing operatives, confirming work methods, maintaining site standards and monitoring progress on site.

You’ll complete 6 mandatory units and 2 optional units, so the qualification reflects both the core parts of the job and the type of work you supervise.

Evidence You’ll Need

Everything comes from your normal day-to-day job on site. There are no written assignments, no exams and no theory tests.

Most experienced supervisors already have much of the evidence they need in their site paperwork, daily records, briefings, RAMS, photos and videos. Your assessor will help you choose the evidence that best matches your role.
