Online NVQ Assessment

Complete your construction NVQ remotely using real work evidence, the CADUK ePortfolio and professional discussion with your assessor.

Our online assessment process is designed for experienced supervisors, managers and health and safety professionals who are already carrying out the role and need a practical route to a recognised NVQ.

There is no classroom attendance, no exams and no long written coursework. You upload evidence from your normal work, then talk through your knowledge and experience with your assessor online.

Remote assessment

Evidence upload, assessor review and one-to-one professional discussion, all completed online.

What is online NVQ assessment?

Online NVQ assessment allows experienced candidates to complete a work-based qualification without attending a classroom or arranging unnecessary site visits.

You use your existing work evidence, such as site records, reports, photographs, videos, RAMS, programmes, audits, briefings, inspections or other role-specific documents. Your assessor reviews the evidence and then completes structured professional discussions with you remotely.

The aim is simple: prove the competence you already demonstrate at work, without turning the NVQ into a classroom course.

Built around the CADUK ePortfolio

After enrolment, you receive access to your personal CADUK ePortfolio. This system was developed in-house by CADUK to keep evidence upload simple and organised.

You can upload documents, photos, videos and site records into the correct areas of your portfolio. Your assessor can then review your evidence, give guidance and confirm what else may be needed.

How the online NVQ process works

Our process is designed to keep assessment straightforward, evidence-led and suitable for experienced candidates.

1. Apply online

Complete a short application so we can understand your role, responsibilities and target NVQ route.

2. Assessor profiling

An assessor checks suitability and confirms whether the qualification matches the work you actually do.

3. Evidence upload

You upload real work evidence into the CADUK ePortfolio, with guidance on what is suitable.

4. Evidence review

Your assessor reviews the portfolio against the qualification standards and identifies any gaps.

5. Professional discussion

You complete structured online discussions where you talk through your role, decisions and real examples.

6. Completion and claim

Once assessment and quality checks are complete, your certificate claim is submitted to the awarding body.

What evidence can be used?

The evidence depends on the NVQ and the role being assessed. Your assessor will confirm what is suitable, but typical construction NVQ evidence could include:

Documents and records

Visual and discussion evidence

Professional discussion, not written coursework

Once your evidence has been reviewed, your assessor will arrange a relaxed online discussion, usually over Zoom. This is not an exam. It is a structured conversation about your role, your decisions and the work you carry out.

Your assessor will ask questions linked to the NVQ criteria and your evidence. You simply talk through how you manage tasks, solve problems, follow procedures, communicate with others and meet the standards required for the qualification.

Practical

Focused on what you actually do in your job, not classroom theory.

Supported

Your assessor guides the process and confirms what evidence is still needed.

Recorded

Assessment decisions are recorded and quality checked before certification.
